As a new year dawns, it brings fresh opportunities and deadlines. Navigating these deadlines effectively is essential for optimizing your financial trajectory.

January 2 - Schedule Your Tax Appointment Now -

January 12 - Deadline for Tip Reporting -

Employees earning tips must report tips exceeding $20 received in December to their employer by January 12. Utilize IRS Form 4070 or provide a detailed, signed statement including your name, address, and Social Security number, along with your employer’s details. This ensures proper withholding of FICA and income taxes.

Should your wages be insufficient to cover these withholdings, your employer will note the uncollected taxes in box 8 of your W-2, and you'll be liable for this amount upon filing.

January 15 - Fourth Quarter Estimated Tax Payment -

This date marks the deadline for your fourth-quarter estimated tax payment for the 2025 tax year. To avert penalties, ensure payment by January 15, or alternatively, file your full 2025 return along with necessary payments by February 2, 2026.

Weekends & Holidays Considerations:

If any due date coincides with a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the deadline extends to the subsequent business day.Image 1
